Apples to Apples: Romney’s Taxes

January 27, 2012 Leave a comment
Wish people would compare apples to apples. The following in no way means that I am a Romney supporter; I’m merely clarifying an issue:

Romney paid how much he was supposed to pay in taxes. His wage income was not taxed at a lower rate than everyone else. What WAS taxed at a lower rate was his investment income, as is everyone’s investment income. The money he used to invest was already taxed as wages. He was smart and invested his income. He made gains. That money was then taxed again. The majority of his income as reported in his returns was investment income, not wage income. Read, people.

Joined LinkedIn Group #2

I just joined the StarrParalegals: Virtual Paralegals Specializing in Bankruptcy & Creditors Rights group on LinkedIn.  I’m looking forward to other paralegals’ insights from around the nation. Every state has different laws, especially regarding garnishments, and this group is proving to be incredibly knowledgeable and informed on all of the latest.

Joining Groups

It is the new year and I have decided that 2012 is it – the year I give myself a good swift kick in the pants. I have decided to be more virtually social and to really ramp up my writing/publishing. To help in this endeavor, I decided to join a few online groups that could provide guidance, ideas and expertise to my articles.

2012’s first group join goes to Collection Attorney and Arbitration Service Association on LinkedIn. I have worked in the legal/collections arena for 11 years now and have just started sharing tips to readers in the last year. I am excited to read, extract valuable information, and contribute to the online discussions of this group.

Hopefully, you’ll all benefit from my latest “trying for personal/professional growth” endeavor. Happy reading!

I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good

December 23, 2011 Leave a comment

Yea, I couldn’t help myself. I had to throw in a bit of Harry Potter for the day. Every day should hold a reference to Harry Potter in my opinion – wonderful, wonderful stories. So, if I had a magic wand today, I would use the “levicorpus” spell to pick up anyone walking into my office and float them back out to their own desks. If only…
